We’re just under 2 months into the scandal-laden malarky circus that is the regime of popular vote loser and aspiring dictator Donald Трамп, and we already have yet ANOTHER member of team Трамп that lied about his contacts with Russia. Recently confirmed Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III recused himself from any further participation into investigations of the Трамп regimes ties to Russia, due to apparently committing perjury before the United States Senate during his confirmation hearing a few weeks ago.
Sessions was asked if he had contacts with Russia in 2016, and said no in both written and oral testimony. Sessions recently admitted that he had contacted Russia twice in 2016, although he said they were in his capacity as a US Senator, not as a member of the Трамп campaign.
But then, it turns out that one of the contacts he made with the Russian ambassador was paid for by his election campaign, meaning, well, it looks like the contact he made WAS in his capacity as a member of the Трамп campaign.
When asked whether it looks like he’s in hot-water, a Трамп regime spokesman allegedly said, “Нет, это не правда, что ты идиот, уйти от меня!”
Speaking of primal screams in the middle of the day because all of this is happening right now, did you hear about the latest Tweet from popular vote loser and aspiring dictator Donald Трамп? Not that one. No, not that one. Not that one. The other one. That one, yes, the one about Green Cards.
Трамп, who watches about the same amount of Fox News as any US senior citizen, sent out a Tweet after watching a Fox & Friends segment featuring Nick Adams, author of “Green Card Warrior: My Quest for Legal Immigration in an Illegals’ System.”
Adams ranted against “multi-culturalism” and immigrants who enter the United States for hand-outs, which drew a salute from Trump who described Adams’ book as a “must read.”
“The merit-based system is the way to go. Canada, Australia!” he Tweeted.
No word yet on whether Трамп realizes that if we had a merit based system for citizenship or residency based on a person’s contribution and skill level, he would be deported.
Speaking of immigration, including legal immigration that the regime of popular vote loser and aspiring dictator Donald Трамп would like to limit, here’s a piece from 4 years ago to jog your memory about the criticality of migrant labor to the United States.
In North Carolina, in 2011, rural farms producing food and other agricultural crops needed to fill 6,500 seasonal positions, in order to bring the food to market. At the time, North Carolina had at least 130,000 unemployed people living there. In 2011, out of the 6,500 agricultural jobs available, only 268 U.S. Citizens applied; the rest of the job applications came from legal migrant labor. Of those 268 U.S. Citizens who applied, only 245 got hired. And of those 245 that got hired, only 163 showed up for the first day of work. And of those 163 people who showed up the first day, only 7 made it to the end of the growing season.
The current environment of hostility against immigrants, including legal immigrants, could effect the ability of farms around the U.S. to hire people to work. Meaning, we could be headed to a sharp spike in the price of food, and an end to the abundant, relatively cheap food that people have now. In other words, we could quite literally be headed to a starvation epidemic in the U.S. of our own making.
When asked for a comment on this four year old story, a Трамп reportedly said, “Look at Трамп, he’s huge! There’s no way that guy’s going to starve.”
Still, it’s probably nothing to worry about. Afterall, at the rate we’re changing the climate, we may not even have farmland to worry about in another four years.
Have a great weekend everybody!
Have you done your part today? If not, take a moment to decide what to do, how you can help, and pitch in! Maybe pitching in for you means telling me I’m dumb, go for it! Whatever it is, make your time count!
