It’s International Women’s Day, and even popular vote loser, probable human and aspiring dictator Donald Трамп sent out a Tweet honoring the day. It was normal. There were no exclamation points. There was no, “SAD,” or, “#LockHerUp” or anything. It was just a normal, milquetoast sort of comment that the President released only on Twitter.
“On International Women’s Day, join me in honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world,” tweeted Трамп.
But literally the same day, around the same time Трамп tweeted his message, Business Insider reported that China had granted preliminary approval for 38 new Trump trademarks, including trademarks for escort services.
I guess we know the critical role Трамп sees for women in China!
Speaking of popular vote loser and aspiring dictator Donald Трамп, did anyone get a chance to read the text of the health care plan being touted as an Obamacare replacement? It’s called, “H.R.1275 – World’s Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017.”
In a related story, Трамп has requested everyone in the White House refer to March as, “World’s Greatest President Ever Month 2017 I’m Awesome You Suck Obama Sucks I’m The Greatest!”
Writer Terrell Jermaine Starr published a piece today on Jalopnik outlining how Russia has managed to weaponize propaganda and use it as a military tool. Starr wrote, ““It’s a way to insert an official Russian perspective into the public conversation in the United States and to provide arguments to people who are sympathetic to Russian policy goals.”
When asked for a comment on the veracity of this story, and whether Russian propaganda was influencing their thinking, an anonymous spokesperson for the White House said, “Нет, это фальшивые новости, вы, манекены, здесь нет русских агентов!!
It’s International Women’s Day! Which seems to inevitably lead to …
– some guy saying, “What about a Men’s Day?”
– someone else pointing out, “Literally every other day,”
– ad infinitum.
So, let’s skip that, and amplify women’s voices when we get the chance. There’s no punchline here, just a link to a piece from the NYT with a perspective on Women’s Day.
Why Women Are On Strike
Wear your red
strike if you can
and amplify the voices of women everywhere
as often as you plan!
Have you done your part today? If not, take a moment to decide what to do, how you can help, and pitch in! Maybe pitching in for you means telling me I’m dumb, go for it! Whatever it is, make your time count!
On International Women’s Day, join me in honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world.
